Prime blamed in the killing for eight police staff in Kanpur a week ago, history-sheeter Vikas Dubey was shot dead after he purportedly attempted to escape from police guardianship in Kanpur right off the bat Friday morning. 

Dubey, who was conveying an award of Rs five lakh on his head, was captured at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. A police group from UP had gone to Madhya Pradesh to carry him to Kanpur.

Colleague Superintendent of Police, Kanpur, Dr Anil Kumar said a police group comprising of authorities from UP's Special Task Force (STF) and Kanpur police were bringing Dubey on a travel remand to Kanpur. At around 7.00 am, the vehicle where Dubey was voyaging toppled after it met with a mishap in Sachendi zone of Kanpur, he said. 

Exploiting mishap, Dubey, police guarantee, endeavored to escape with an assistance gun having a place with one of the officials. 

Meanwhile, another police group accompanying the vehicle in which the criminal was going in, showed up at the spot. They gheraoed the region and started a brushing activity to get Dubey. 

On observing the police group surrounding him, Dubey started shooting. The police officers attempted to make Dubey give up, however he won't and again took shots at the police. Two officials were injured in the episode. 

In reprisal, the police terminated at Dubey, harming him. Every one of the three harmed people were raced to a medical clinic where specialists pronounced Dubey dead, said Dr Kumar. 

Meanwhile, another police group accompanying the vehicle in which the hoodlum was going in, showed up at the spot. They gheraoed the zone and started a brushing activity to get Dubey.
