Have not offered to have IPL 2020: New Zealand Cricket
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has disproved reports that it has offered to have the now-delayed Indian Premier League this year, naming the reports as "theory".
NZC representative Richard Boock said the cricket board has not communicated its enthusiasm to have the IPL, which was to be held in March this year yet was deferred uncertainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The report is basically theory. We have not offered to have the IPL nor have we had a way to deal with do as such," NZC representative Boock was cited as saying by Radio New Zealand.
Boock's announcement came in after a BCCI official expressed that New Zealand have likewise joined alongside UAE and Sri Lanka the race to have the current year's IPL in the event that it is moved out of India due to the pandemic.
The BCCI is peering toward the September-November window to have the occasion instead of the World T20 in Australia, which is sure to be deferred on account of the developing instances of the lethal infection.
On the off chance that the IPL is removed from the nation, it will be the second such occasion.
Its 2009 release was facilitated by South Africa due to the general races in India.
