Tamil Nadu Police have captured three people for running a copy State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Panrutti in Cuddalore region.

As per the police, Kamal Babu (19), the child of a previous SBI representative, had brought PCs, storage spaces, challans and produced archives, among different things, to set up the branch through his contacts. A site was even made for the sake of the Panrutti Bazaar branch.
Babu, alongside A Kumar (42), M Manickam (52), had opened the branch in April in the midst of the lockdown, with a suspicion that they would not be gotten.
Be that as it may, the branch went under the radar when a SBI client enquired about the recently opened branch in North Bazaar with the director of a current branch in the town.

After one of the clients indicated the receipt he had obtained from the copy branch, the director and different authorities visited the phony branch and were stunned to locate the set up like that of a unique bank office with all the fundamental things. They promptly held up an objection with the Panrutti police following which the trio were arredt under segments 473, 469, 484, 109 of the Indian Penal Code.
"Babu's folks are previous SBI bank representatives. Since the beginning, he had been visiting the bank and had figured out how a branch capacities. His dad kicked the bucket a couple of years prior and his mom had resigned. After his dad's passing, he had applied for his post. He got disappointed after his application was postponed and henceforth chose to open a bank without anyone else," the authority said.
