Who is Manoj Sinha, the new L-G of J&K?


Effectively associated with building up the retrogressive towns of Uttar Pradesh, Sinha has frequently been called 'vikas purush'. 



Manoj Sinha, a senior BJP pioneer and previous Union Minister, has been named as the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir after Girish Chandra Murmu surrendered yesterday. 

Sinha is a three-time Lok Sabha MP who was Minister of State (Communication) in 2016 when the telecom business was occupied with offer of range. He has been credited with defeating the danger of call drop.

His political profession started in 1982 when he was chosen the leader of Banaras Hindu University(BHU) Students Union. He was again chosen as the Lok Sabha MP from Ghazipur in the 2014 General Elections. He was previous Minister of State for Railways and later held an autonomous charge of the Ministry of Communication. 

A Rashtrapati Bhawan dispatch on Thursday said the renunciation of Murmu has been acknowledged. The dispatch gave by the President's press secretary Ajay Kumar stated, "The President has been satisfied to select Manoj Sinha, to be the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir with impact from the date he accept charge of his office" instead of Murmu. 

The huge change comes precisely a year after the Center repealed the extraordinary status of past state, and chose to bifurcate it into two Union Territories.
